Latimer DeVere
DeVere’s Latimer Estate was an Elizabethan house where Charles I was imprisoned in 1647 and Charles II took refuge before fleeing abroad.
The house was rebuilt by Edward Blore in 1838. During World War Two the house became a top-secret facility ran by MI5 and MI6, latterly the house was used as a defence training college before becoming the renowned hotel it is today.
Paton have worked on many historic buildings across the UK. With over 25 years of experience, Paton have gained exceptional knowledge and understanding for the unique requirements of historical buildings. Working alongside British Heritage, Paton carried out specialist renovation work to the historic wood flooring, large oak beams and notably extensive conservation works renovating and rebuilding of the historic chimneys. Further projects included new bars and restaurants.
