Project Description

PROJECT

Villiers and Old Town Hall

Villiers Hotel started its life as a private residence over 400 years ago.

Paton was awarded the project having been recommended as a renovation specialist with all the necessary skills for working on and revitalising a period building.

The property then named ‘Swanne upon the Hope’ was left to Elizabeth, the daughter of Sir Ralph Seyer in 1577. Oliver Cromwell billeted his troops at the house in 1643 during the civil war.

Since then both Hotel and Old Town Hall have enjoyed a rich history.

Paton renovated part of the buildings and refurbished the reception, bar, restaurant and meeting rooms in the hotel, along with conferencing, ballroom and wedding shop in the Old Town Hall.

The high standard refurbishment was finished with contemporary furniture, screens and lighting for the restaurant and bar with new panelling and ceilings that reflect the period opulence of the original building design.
